The special great ‘Girls for Goals’ initiative is an extraordinary project focused at enhancing gender equality through the power of Sports, Education, and Healthy Living, is set to culminate in a grand final event on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Adaklu Waya in the Volta Region.
The final leg of the program in Adaklu Waya will bring together stakeholders, educators, and youth for a vibrant exchange of ideas and inspiration. Some key speakers at the event will include, Vera Abena Addo, Program Officer, Centre for Democratic Development (CDD). Marian Mensah, Director of Legal, Ghana Football Association. Fafali Dumehasi, Former Black Queens goalkeeper and current Team Manager of the Black Princesses
The day’s activities will also include mixed football drills involving both girls and boys, further emphasizing the project’s core value of inclusion and equality. Two sets of drills will be conducted, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and mutual respect.
To cap off the event, the Adaklu Senior High School will receive footballs and branded items from sponsors as part of the program’s legacy to sustain enthusiasm for football in the community.
The Girls for Goals project underscores the GFA’s broader commitment to youth empowerment and gender parity in football, and this final event promises to be a powerful celebration of progress, partnership, and potential.
