The training has assembled 14 carefully selected individuals across member associations in the sub-region including Ghana, Cameroon, Gambia and Sierra Leone Serra Leaon.
They are to undergoing the certified ICC Level One Umpires Tutors’ Course. The course is part of the International Cricket Council’s effort to make cricket a global sport. The three-day training will cover various aspects of umpiring including rules, regulations, best practices and other key areas.
The ICC Level One Umpires Tutors’ Course is also a critical component of the ICC’s Educational program, aimed at enhancing capabilities of ICC Africa member nations.
The Vice President of Ghana Cricket Association, Mr. Oscar Provencal, is happy at the opportunity to host the event. The course is being conducted by Master Educators, Lauren Agenbag and Thomas Mokorosi.
Some participants shared their expectations with us, embracing the platform and upgrading efforts. Ghana Cricket Association says they hope the Ghanaian participants will use the knowledge gained to help grow the sport in the country.
