The clash between Legon knights Ladies and Reformers Ladies was one of the keenly contested games on the line up of matches in the Women’s division for week-three in the ongoing Greater Accra Sapholda Hockey League.

Both teams were in desperate search for a win after suffering back -to- defeats. Prisons in the brown jersey got the opener through a Field Goal on the 8th minute by Felicia Afum.

Legon knights pushed for the equalizer and their efforts paid off in the second quarter. They scored through a Penalty Corner on the 28th minute by captain Adjoa Amoah. Both team’s searched for the winner but it was the experienced reformers side that had the last laugh. They scored from a Field Goal through captain Benedicta Adjei on the 47th minute.

They held on to carry the day by two goals to one, their first after 3 games. Captains of the two sides, Adjoa Amoah and Benedicta Adjei said they have more work to do ahead of their next games.

The result has pushed Reformers to the 4th place with Legon knights and extinguishers occupying the bottom with no points. The league continues next Saturday at the national hockey stadium, the Theodosia Okoh hockey pitch in Accra.
