It was a smooth and orderly transition of leadership at the Ghana Olympic Committee on Tuesday May 6, 2025, as the outgoing team handed over administrative and financial responsibilities to the new executives.
The Secretary-General of the GOC, Mr. Mohammed Muniru, confirmed he had received all relevant documents from his predecessor and was ready to begin his work in earnest.
In a similar fashion, the financial reins of the Committee were officially handed over. The outgoing Treasurer, Mr. Fredrick Acheampong transferred all financial records to the new Treasurer, Mr. Evans Yeboah. The immediate past President, Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah, expressed confidence in the new leadership, urging them to remain focused and committed to the Olympic dream.
Taking up the mantle as the new President, Mr. Richard Akpokavi outlined his vision to move the Ghana Olympic Committee forward.
With the new team officially in place, the Ghana Olympic Committee is poised to continue its mission of promoting excellence in sports and upholding the Olympic spirit.
