Kalibi Volleyball Club – a fast-rising force in the Greater Accra Volleyball League – is set to make history as the sole representative of Ghana at the upcoming Confederation of African Volleyball Zone 3 Championship.
Both their men’s and women’s teams have wrapped up preparations and are brimming with confidence as they head into the continental challenge for the very first time. The championship in Burkina Faso will assemble 12 men’s club and 8 women club readying up to take over West Africa.
The men’s and women’s teams – relatively new but undeniably fierce – are the only Ghanaian sides set to feature in the tournament. And though it’s their debut on the continental stage, the energy and passion during their final workout tell a story of a team that believes. Captains of the men and women’s team says they believe in their talent and are not just going to participate but compete and make Ghana proud.
Their confidence isn’t just wishful thinking. According to the team’s technical director, Kalibi boasts some of the finest volleyball talents Ghana has to offer. The Deputy Director Research, Sports and Innovation at Ministry of Sports and Recreation, Horen Quashigah pledged his outfits support to ensure Ghana’s flag flies high in the competition.
Behind this spirited team is a dreamer and a doer – Mr. Bernard Mornah, the founder of Kalibi Volleyball Club. He expressed deep gratitude to benevolent organizations whose support made it possible for the team to travel and compete.
With hearts full of pride and eyes set on victory, Kalibi Volleyball Club heads to the African stage not just as athletes – but as ambassadors of hope, resilience, and Ghanaian excellence. Whether they return with medals or memories, one thing is certain: a new force in Ghana volleyball has arrived — and their journey is only just beginning.
