PMSports Holds Maiden Edition of Deaf Tennis Festival

The one-day event at the Borteyman Sports Complex drew over 150 kids from Sweduro, Demonstration School at Mampong, Koforidua School for the Deaf and Tetteh Ocloo State School-Adjei Kojo, who were instructed in the fundamentals of tennis.

Peter Mensah, CEO of PMSports Foundation and Founder of Ghana Deaf Tennis, shared the thinking behind bring the school for the Deaf together.

As part of the festival, the PMSports Foundation—a non-governmental organization—distributed custom-branded items such as water bottles, bags, and more to each participant.

In a bid to inspire and encourage the young deaf athletes, every child received a medal and a trophy, while finalists were awarded brand new tennis racquets.

The event was graced by notable personalities, including the President of the Ghana Tennis Federation, Isaac Aboagye Duah, and the President of Ghana Deaf Sports.

Twillium Company supported the initiative as a sponsor, and PMSports is calling on more companies and stakeholders to support future editions. The Foundation is committed to continuing such initiatives to nurture and uplift young deaf athletes in Ghana.
