From the dusty parks in Nima, to state-of-the-art equipment and stadia in Europe. This is the story of Mohammed Kudus, “The Nima Boy” as many choose to call him.
The Black Stars and West ham United Midfielder have made a donation to his former school in Accra, Nima Basic One (1). The donation to his alma mater were high quality football kits and books to the pupils as part of his #KudusDream initiative.
The visit, dubbed, “Kudus Mohammed School Homecoming Visitation”, was supported by global footwear brand Skechers with the aim to empower young learners through education and sports.
“This is where everything started for me,” Kudus said. “Coming back here is not just about giving but also, a reminder to these kids that it’s possible. I was once one of them.”
Kudus expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and described the donation as a small way to give back to the community that nurtured him. Kudus further advised the students to take their studies seriously, regardless of the paths they hope to pursue.
Elsewhere, Academy Eleven also beat Legon All-stars to win the maiden edition of the Bazaki Football Tournament held at the Kawukudi Astro Turf Park.
The tournament was put together by Mohammed Kudus and Skechers. The #KudusDream initiative is a personal project launched by Kudus Mohammed to support underserved communities, particularly Zongo communities in Ghana.
