Jordan Ayew hails Black Stars team spirit, eyes 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers

Ghana captain Jordan Ayew, expressed satisfaction with the 4-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago in the Unity Cup, citing it as a confidence booster after a loss to Nigeria.

The Leicester City forward praised the new players for showcasing their talent in the absence of some our key players and highlighted the importance of the win for team spirit.

Ayew also expressed gratitude for the support from the Ghanaian community in London and looks forward to the team’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers, believing Ghana have a good chance of making it to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

On remaining FIFA World Cup qualifying matches: Skipper Jordan Ayew said, ”I think we have a very good chance of making it to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The team fought hard for the points against Chad and Madagascar in March and that has put us in a very good place on top of the table. But it is not yet over. We have four more matches to play, and we are focused on winning them”.

”We have Chad and Mali in September; it won’t be easy, same as Central African Republic and Comoros. But with this kind of mentality and team spirit, we will succeed”.

Also, on support from the Ghanaian Community in London, Ayew stated that he and the boys are feeling good; it’s good they came here in their numbers to support us. We enjoyed it and we can’t thank them enough.
