Mali head coach Tom Saintfiet has voiced strong disappointment over the decision to alter the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) calendar. Ahead of the ongoing 2025 tournament, Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Dr Patrice Motsepe announced that AFCON would shift from its traditional two-year cycle to a four-year format, alongside the introduction of a Nations League.
