The immediate-past Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) President Abraham Kotei Neequaye has instigated a fuming attack on the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, and the former Sports Minister, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, vowing to confront both state-men head-on after his resignation.
On Monday, June 30, 2025, Ex- GBA President, Abraham Neequaye affirmed he was resigning from sports administration to return fully to politics, expressing deep regret over what he described as political sabotage within Ghana’s sporting landscape.
Kotei Neequaye also assured his commitment to keeping sports independent from political interference. “You don’t have that right, Kofi Adams. I will fight you — and I’ll fight Nii Lantey too.”
The former GBA President in a direct and personal challenge, Neequaye didn’t mince words to now Sports Minister, Hon. Kofi Adams and the former, Nii Lante.
“The Minister told me to my face that he can’t work with me. Fine — I’m a politician, he’s a politician. I’m leaving sports so we can go back and fight,” Neequaye said, his tone laced with both anger and resolve.
To make headway of the resignation, the 2nd Vice President, Roger Barnor will stir affairs as the new President of the Ghana Boxing Authority.
