In their opening match at the UEFA International Development tournament on Tuesday morning, Ghana’s U16 Women’s national team, the Black Damsels, thrashed Malta.
The team outperformed its opponents in the games played at the Centenary Stadium in Ta’ Qali-Attard, scoring the first goal in the fourteenth minute.
The hosts, Malta, levelled on the half hour mark from the spot but the Black Damsels restored their lead a minute later. It was goals galore in the second half as the Black Damsels scores six times to record an 8-1 win in their first match.
In addition, Ghana will play Ireland and Latvia in the developmental competition. They are getting ready to promote the Black Damsels to the Black Maidens.
