Boxer Emmanuel Abang Alarbi has won an important belt for Mother Ghana, one of the two boxers that represented Ghana in Poland at the Seven Stars Para Boxing International Championship.
The Minister for sports and recreation Mr. Kofi Adams commended the Adaptive Boxing athletes for their accomplishments. Mr. Adams assured them of his outfits support in any competition involving Adaptive Boxing and advised them to take their training seriously.
The President of the Ghana Adaptive Boxing Federation, Abubakar Samba, described the meeting as a morale booster. The General Secretary of Ghana Adaptive Boxing Federation, Mr. Patrick Johnson, says the acceptance of the sport by the Minister is a plus to inclusivity campaign.
The two boxers that represented the country during the championship Emmanuel Alabi Abang and Rashad Mohammed said they have been motivated by the warm reception by the sector minister.
Coaches at Fit Square Gymnasium, led by head coach Lartekwei Lartey, who have been training the boxers called for logistical support to train more credible fighters. Some executive members present said they will continue to work hard to raise the profile of the sport in the country.
