ACCRA: INDEPENDENCE DAY DOUBLES TENNIS TOURNAMENT ENDS

The Independence Day doubles tennis tournament took place at the Police Depot Tennis Club in Tesano in Accra.

The maiden edition started with round-robin format. In the women’s final Linda Sedinam and Naa Ayorkor-Ofoli came up against Oforiwaa Afia Aboagye and Eugenia Asigri.

The encounter lasted over an hour. At the end Linda and Naa emerged winners. In the men’s final the pair of Prince Tetteh and Francis-Sim Quartey as against Yaw Osei Poku and Alex Kumah, both sides display a good tennis prowess on the court, the final travel two hours and be young.

Prince and Francis-Sim’s energy level led them to win the tournament by 6-3, 6-4, to be crowned champions. Here are some views shared by the winners.

A member of the organizing team, Mr. George Heckson promised the next edition will be greater. All winners and deserving players took home souvenirs from sponsors and the trophies at stake.
